| Bill | I am interested in Hiram Petitt and Caroline Mansker. They were married in Randolph County in 1851. It is THOUGHT, Caroline, born in 1834, may really be Fanny Carline, which could be a mis-understanding or mis-spelling of Caroline, or visa versa. We think she is a sister of Jacob L. Mansker, therefore, a daughter of Lewis Mansker. I do have a copy of the marriage entry. Hiram Petitt, is the son of either Richard or William Petitt, they were brothers, and sons of a Thomas Petitt of White County Tennessee. Both Hiram and Caroline are buried in Thebes, Illinois in Alexander County. Any help appreciated, thank you. 2-03 |

| Barbara | These are all names of my husbands ancestors in Randolph County. His father, John Irvin Pittman, born in Sparta, granddad also named John; grandmom, Mary Ellen Ennis Pittman. John Irvin, for some reason was not raised in the Pittman home; raised by family in Chester by the name of McFaddin. Believe the McFaddin home was in the vicinity of the old hospital. John Irvin worked for the Missouri Pacific railroad at one time in his life. I know of a Lela Bilderback Tindall who also had a sister by the name of Myra. Lela was married to a John Tindall from Rockwood. Holley and Kent are also family names. Sarah Elizabeth Holley married Charles Tindall. Kent's would be great-grandparents. Any information on these families would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. 2-03 |

Looking for family of Jackson's cir
1830's Samuel Jackson was born March 1833, possibly in Monroe
County but grew up in the area of Rockwood. He had one male
sibling and possibly two female siblings. He joined the army and
was a private in the 15 Ills. Vol Cav. in June 25, 1861. He was
discharged in September, 1865 whereupon he returned to Rockwood, IL.
He said to his later wife, "all my family was gone". I
am looking for siblings, parents, and, I think, a wife, since he was
40 when he married my ancestor, Arvazine Lovejoy Harris. 2-03

address is not working because I had the email returned. I am a
Robinet, of France to Sandwich (Windsor), descent and have a lot of
information to share with interested persons. I cover over 3100 names
and many marriages are traced as far as I can. I am trying to locate
this "Floyd" as I may be able to help him. I will also help anyone else
who may believe that they may be connected to the Robinets. 7-03

SCHMIDT, JOHANN FRIEDRICH CONRAD
immigrated to the US July 7, 1845 on the ship "Goethe". He was born 13
Nov 1792 in Neuenknick 38, Windheim, Prussia. He is buried somewhere in
the US. Likely Illinois or near St Louis. Using the name Friedrich and
could have last name as Smith.
SCHMIDT, ANNA MARGARETH ELISABETH HELDT,
his wife, born 26 Nov 1790 in Rosenhagen 14, Windheim. She is using the
name Elisabeth in the US and is buried at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in
Red Bud.
SCHMIDT, JOHANN FRIEDRICH CONRAD, born 22
Apr 1819 Neuenknick. He died 5 Dec 1865 in Red Bud. Name used was
Conrad or William Smith
SCHMIDT, CHARLOTTE, born 8 Nov 1821
Neuenknick. I suspect that she married Wilhelm SCHUTTE since they were
sponsors for Conrad's children.
SCHMIDT, SOPHIE WILHELMINE, born 13 Apr
1830 Neuenknick. She is either married to a Bense or Heinrich MOHRS.
Both were sponsors for Conras's children and Henry was also the guardian
for Conrad's oldest daugher after he died.
Please contact me if you have any
information on where Johan Friedrich Conrad Schmidt is buried or any
other information about this family.
