Picture below is of the Colonial Fife and Drum Corps of Alton, IL, leading the retreat ceremony. The summer of 2000 saw nearly 20,000 visitors to this annual 2 day event, with 410 primitive campsites!

February 3-4 Indian & French War Winter Encampment A winter gathering of F & I period reenactors camping and competing in a team woodswalk musket contest

A weekend of demonstrations and instructions focusing on the typical 18th century woman.

Associatoin Encampment
The ALRA portray the "long Hunter' era of 1750-1815. This is their annual encampment at Fort de Chartres.
April 21-22 L'Ecole de Soldat
School of the Soldier
An educational weekend with demonstrations and lectures to help reeanctors with their personas.
April 28-29 Colonial Trade Fair
and Musket Frolic
Ajuried living history event, depicting the Illinois Country 1750-1790. Includes shooting matches for rifle and musket, colonial games and military demonstrations.
May 12 Les Journees pour les Jeunes Gens
Kids Days
A special weekend for children with 18th century games, contests, story telling, puppet shows, prizes and refreshments. Free to children of all ages.
June 2-3 Annual Ft. Chartres Rendezvous One of the largest in the country. 18th century crafts, food, music, 1000's of historically dressed participants, flintlock musket and rifle competition, cannon and mortar competitions, traders and much more! There is a $5 parking fee. Always the first weekend in June.
Sept.15th - 16th French Colonial Crafts & Trades A 'hands on' weekend of 18th century crafts. Learn and help construct items using period tools.
Oct. 6th - 7th French & Indian War Assemblage A living history event portraying the time period of the fort with camp life, contests and vignettes.
Nov.  3rd-4th  Winter Rendezvous A typical rendezvous featuring camp life, traders and a woodswalk team shooting contest. A "dont miss" event.
Dec. 31st. La Guiannee Come celebrate the new yar with a historic local tradition. Starts at 7:00pm. Music and refreshments.
