
Mahala E. Stout

Mahala Elizabeth "Hallie" Stout
was born in Franklin County Indiana, abt.
1845. She was the daughter of Sarah Ann (Sally)
Egbert and James Stout.
She moved, with her parents, from Indiana
to Perry County in 1859.
Mahala first married Ferdinand Barutelle
TOULOUSE, from Kaskaskia Island, on November
15, 1867, in Randolph County. Ferdinand was
the son of John Barutelle Toulouse and Dorthea
WHIPKING, who were married in Randolph County
in 1848.
Mahala and Ferdinand had one son, George,
b: 1869.
After Ferdinand's death, Mahala married James
Edward O'CULLAGHAN at St. Mary's Church,
on Kaskaskia Island, on August 1, 1871.
James and Mahala had had two sons, John b:
1873, and William b: 1878.
The 1880 Federal Census shows Mahala living
with her two sons, as Mahala O'SULLIVAN.
Her third husband remains unknown, as does
her death date and place of burial.
Her siblings are listed with the photo &
bio of Mary Ellen Stout CAMPBELL.
